About the Journal
Journal of Sustainability Science (JSS) is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and integrity. Our ethical policy is based on the guidelines and best practices developed by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and applies to all parties involved in the publication process, authors, editors, reviewers, and publishers.
1. Responsibilities of Authors
· Originality and Plagiarism: Authors must ensure that their work is original and that any content taken from other sources is properly cited or quoted. All submissions are screened for plagiarism.
· Multiple Submissions: Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal concurrently constitutes unethical publishing behavior and is unacceptable.
· Acknowledgment of Sources: Authors must appropriately acknowledge all sources and contributions.
· Authorship: All listed authors must have made a significant contribution to the work. Any changes to authorship after submission must be approved by all authors.
· Conflict of Interest: Authors must disclose any financial or personal relationships that could influence their research.
2. Responsibilities of Editors
· Fair Evaluation: Editors evaluate submissions based solely on academic quality, without bias regarding the authors’ race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy.
· Confidentiality: Editors and editorial staff must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, and publisher.
· Publication Decisions: Editors are responsible for deciding which submitted manuscripts should be published, guided by the journal's policies and legal requirements regarding libel, copyright infringement, and plagiarism.
3. Responsibilities of Reviewers
· Confidentiality: Reviewers must treat manuscripts as confidential documents and must not disclose or discuss them with others.
· Objectivity: Reviews must be conducted objectively and provide constructive feedback to help improve the manuscript.
· Acknowledgment of Sources: Reviewers should identify relevant published work that has not been cited and report any suspected ethical misconduct to the editor.
· Conflict of Interest: Reviewers must decline the review if they have any conflicts of interest with the author(s) or the content.
4. Ethical Oversight
· Misconduct Handling: KJAS takes all allegations of misconduct seriously. Suspected cases of plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, or ethical breaches will be investigated in accordance with COPE guidelines.
· Corrections and Retractions: If significant errors or misconduct are discovered, the journal will issue corrections, retractions, or expressions of concern as needed.
